“A negative mind will never give you positive results.”- says Jade Morgan who is a certified personal trainer based in Ras Al Khaimah. She brings to you some top tips to ace your workout this summer. Read on.
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail
Plan your workouts ahead of time, in fact, if you can plan and schedule your workouts for the week, then do so. If you don’t plan and schedule it, you probably won’t get them done.

Be realistic with the duration and intensity of your workouts and your goals
If you know you only have 30 mins to workout, or you are only starting out, try not to plan a massive list of exercises to get through or crazy moves one after the other. Quality over quantity every time! If you bite off more than you can chew, it is going to leave you unsatisfied and unmotivated to keep going.
Create a playlist, and let’s get the party started
The more you enjoy the songs you hear the more energy you will more likely have for the workout ahead. Besides a Boogie to a good song in between exercises never hurt anyone!
Turn your phone on flight mode during your workout
We tend to be easily distracted these days, phone calls, messages, social media… the list goes on. This is your time and you deserve this time to better yourself, mentally and physically. So flight mode on and go for it!
Something is better than nothing
If you followed all the above and you still only managed 10mins, or just a walk or whatever the case may be… just be kind to yourself and remember something is better than nothing. Tomorrow is a new, fresh day and you can give it another try!

Celebrate your progress, all of it
The first time you manage a full sit-up, your first pull-up an extra kg lost and even your goal pants finally fitting. Everybody has to start somewhere, but just start… you won’t regret it
Instead of thinking: “I have to start working out because I am fat, I am weak, I look out of shape…” Change these thoughts into: “I want to work out because I love myself and I deserve to look and feel healthy”. Your mind is the most powerful tool you own and you have to live in your body, so take good care of both of them.
