The New Year’s Eve Organizing Committee is a collaborative effort led by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA). It comprises teams from Marjan, Ras Al Khaimah Police, Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office, Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce, Public Works, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, Al Hamra, and others. Together, they work tirelessly to ensure that this grand celebration goes off without a hitch.

Al Marjan Island will be an ever-changing stage of massive fireworks, accompanied by spectacular drone pyrotechnics. There are more than 15,000 fireworks as well as 5,000 hours of hard work, 130 sea pontoons, and hundreds of drones with pyrotechnics.

The fireworks are designed in European factories and hand-crafted by historic fireworks families over the past few months. The large shells, the bright and changing colours, and the unique forms will contribute to the show’s beauty. The 12 minutes of fireworks are accompanied by nano-lights and stunning orchestral electronic music that will amaze visitors. The whole stage fireworks is a massive 4.7-kilometre stage, with dancing lights dancing to energetic music that flows from one side of the bay to the other.

Preparations for this year’s celebrations are being carried out by the organizing committee headed by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, teams from Ras Al Khaimah Police, the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office, the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce, Marjan, the Department of Works and Public Services, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Hamra Municipality, and others. The committee will focus on the public’s safety while taking all precautionary measures in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection.

The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has entered several times in the Guinness Book of Records due to its amazing displays of fireworks in previous New Year celebrations; The emirate staged a stunning display of fireworks for the 2022 New Year celebrations attended by thousands of spectators along the beach, using more than 15,000 visual effects with the help of 452 drones. The spectacular 2022 festive display thus set two new Guinness World Records records: “Most number of drones used to launch fireworks simultaneously” and “Highest height of a drone fireworks display.”

Year 2024: RAK NYE Fireworks

On January 1, 2024, Ras Al Khaimah shattered expectations once again, breaking two Guinness World Records with an eight-minute-long firework and drone display that left spectators in awe. This remarkable celebration, witnessed by over 50,000 people, featured a combination of groundbreaking techniques, aquatic floating fireworks, LED drones, and acrobatic pyro planes.

THE ‘LONGEST CHAIN OF AQUATIC FLOATING FIREWORKS’

The highlight of Ras Al Khaimah’s New Year celebrations was the ‘Longest Chain of Aquatic Floating Fireworks,’ a mesmerizing display spanning an astonishing 5.8 kilometers. The fireworks created a breathtaking visual spectacle, illuminating the night sky and captivating the audience.

THE ‘LONGEST STRAIGHT-LINE DRONES DISPLAY’

In addition to the aquatic fireworks, Ras Al Khaimah also achieved the ‘Longest Straight-Line Drones Display’ with a total length of 2 kilometers. This extraordinary feat demonstrated the emirate’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in New Year celebrations.

Year 2023: RAK NYE Fireworks

Ras Al Khaimah set two Guinness World Records with its New Year’s Eve fireworks show. The city used 671 drones to set the record for the largest number of drones used in a simultaneous fireworks display, and 673 drones to create the largest aerial sentence formed by drones. The 12-minute performance featured a stunning pyrotechnic display and impressive fireworks.

Ras Al Khaimah’s New Year’s Eve fireworks show was a major attraction for visitors from around the world. The show featured state-of-the-art drones, nano lights, and a choreographed pyrotechnic display. Covering a distance of 4.7 km and reaching a height of 1,100 meters, the show set a new record for the largest number of drones used in a simultaneous fireworks display, with a total of 671 drones.

The show ended with a message saying “Happy New Year 2023,” followed by a transition into the emirate’s iconic “RAKashida” logo. The logo, inspired by the “kashida” concept in Arabic calligraphy, represents the emirate’s three natural elements: the sea, desert, and mountain

Thousands of people worldwide witnessed the Epic Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Celebrations (RAKNYE 2022) that impressed everyone with amazing fireworks show that smashed 2 Guinness World Records.

The 12-minute spectacle was choreographed to express the reunion’s joy through six themes set to the majestic orchestral tune. The symphony of light and music offered the guests who had stayed at designated camping places with friends and family on the previous day an event that was one of the most enjoyable moments of the holiday season

Year 2021: RAK NYE Fireworks

The Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Celebrations dazzled the world with a 10-minute firework show that underlined the UAE’s message of hope, peace and achievements. Lighting up the sky over the Arabian Sea, 8,500kg of fireworks lit up a length of 4km and width of 3.9km. The festive panorama of colours was achieved from 81 launch pontoons that shot up 15,281 firework shells. The show took 20 days of offshore and onshore preparation with 30 technicians. More than 3km of optical fibre was laid in addition to 6km of control cables.

Year 2020: RAK NYE Fireworks

The emirate wrote history as it achieved the titles of “Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for launching Fireworks Simultaneously” and “The Longest Firework Waterfall”, in the presence of official adjudicators from Guinness World Records.
