More about the Pink Caravan
Pink Caravan, a pan-UAE initiative was launched in 2011 under the patronage of HH Shaikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and HH Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society (FoCP), International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC.
This was at a time that cancer research and treatment facilities in the emirate were at an all-time low. The aim of the initiative was and has been to spread awareness of breast cancer. It also aims to provide clinical check-up, breast cancer investigation and follow-up for all residents in the UAE, with a focus on people who need financial assistance.
