The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has partnered with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai and Global Village to introduce a new bus route connecting Ras Al Khaimah with Global Village.

This launch is in response to the growing customer demand for this service.

Mohamed Hashem Esmaeel, the Director of Quality and Operations Control Department at RAKTA, stated that the launch of the route is a prompt response to the needs of mass transport users and is part of RAKTA’s strategy to expand intercity bus service. The trial launch of the service began in December 2022.

Weekend trips

The service is available only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with two round trips per day, starting from the main bus station in Ras Al Khaimah and going to public bus stops in Global Village in Dubai. The cost for a one-way ticket is Dh30.

The RAKBus app, available on the Apple Store and Google Play, allows customers to book and pay for trips through RAKTA. Trip schedules can also be viewed on RAKTA’s website.

Adel Shakri, director of the Planning and Business Development Department at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, stated that RTA Dubai is focused on implementing strategies that align with global standards to integrate the mass transport network in Dubai and provide an efficient link between Dubai and other emirates.

Muhannad Ishaq, senior director of Guest Relations at Global Village, stated that they are pleased to partner with RAKTA and RTA Dubai to offer this new service that will make it easier for guests from Ras Al Khaimah to visit Global Village and have an even more enjoyable experience.
