RAK Airport’s New VVIP Terminal and Private Jet Hangar: What’s Coming

RAK Airport's New VVIP Terminal and Private Jet Hangar

Ras Al Khaimah airport is building a luxury VVIP terminal and private jet hangar with Falcon Executive Aviation, opening in early 2027. Here is what it means.

Last updated: July 2026

Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is rolling out the red carpet, quite literally. The airport has announced a dedicated VVIP terminal and private jet hangar, built in partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, and it is a clear signal of where RAK is heading: upmarket, and fast. Here is what is being built and why it matters for the emirate.

What’s being built

Unveiled at the Dubai Airshow, the new facility is a partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, part of Alex Group Investment. The numbers give a sense of the ambition:

  • A luxurious 1,500 sqm VVIP terminal
  • An 8,000 sqm multi-purpose hangar
  • 9,000 sqm of apron and aircraft parking
  • A Royal lounge, four VVIP lounges and premium hospitality areas built for discreet, high-profile travellers

Sustainability is baked in, too. The terminal and hangar are being designed to LEED Gold standard, with plans to offset 35% of energy use through solar power, run fully electric ground support equipment and enable the use of sustainable aviation fuel.

Why it matters for RAK

This is not a vanity project. It is aimed squarely at the high-net-worth travellers and private jet operators that Ras Al Khaimah expects to attract as its luxury tourism scene explodes – not least with Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE’s first integrated casino resort, opening in 2027. A dedicated private aviation gateway means those guests can arrive in privacy, minutes from the beach resorts, rather than routing through a busier hub. It also fits neatly into the airport’s broader expansion toward three million passengers.

What happens next

Construction is expected to run over roughly 15 months, with the facility scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027 – lining up almost perfectly with the wave of luxury arrivals RAK is preparing for.
