Coronavirus: Plastic separators with front seat ban in RAK Taxies
The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority has fitted plastic isolators in their cab fleet to separate drivers from the passengers and ensure public safety.
The move is part of the authority’s tireless efforts to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection and transmission, Eng Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, General Manager, RAK Transport Authority, said.
The new separators provide more protection for both our drivers and passengers and curb any chance of mingling or contraction of contagious diseases.
No passenger is allowed on the front seat next to the driver, he underlined.
We have started this front seat ban since the very beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak.
All cabs here are sterilised after each and every taxi trip, Al Blooshi stated.
All staff drivers wear facemasks and gloves and use hand sanitizers on a regular basis for more protection.
