The road for Jebel Jais set to re-open this weekend
During the heavy showers, the road to Jebel Jais was blocked for public safety. According to a senior official at the department of public works in Ras Al Khaimah, The Jebel Jais road will be opened this week after finishing maintenance works.
The maintenance work after heavy rains in Ras Al Khaimah
- 303 million gallons of water was drained
- The emergency teams handled 969 rain-related reports
- 8 reports on uprooted trees and lamp posts, and three traffic signals which stopped working
- 80 machines were used to reinforce 84 sand areas and 43 landslides
- 70 pumping machines were also used in draining rainwater in 5,307 trips
- All water collected has been stored in special ground reservoirs
