The planned Wynn Resort on the Ras Al Khaimah region’s Marjan Island is hoped to be the Wynn’s “greatest hit” globally, as part of a portfolio that includes properties located in Macau, Las Vegas and Boston.

The resort integrated will be built with substantial foreign direct investments by Wynn Resorts. The resort is scheduled to be completed at Al Marjan Island, the development is the first resort on the beach that is being built under the supervision of Wynn Resorts globally. The current plan includes an over 1,000-room hotel, an exclusive shopping mall with a state-of-the-art conference and convention centre and spa, as well as more than 10 lounges and restaurants with a variety of entertainment options as well as a gaming space and many other facilities.

The announcement coincides with the fact that Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) establishes an area specifically for the oversight of “integrated resorts in the emirate,” of which the proposed Wynn hotel falls within.
The division will manage hotels and entertainment, conventions bars and restaurants spa, retail, as well as gaming establishments. This department’s new Department of Entertainment and Gaming Regulation will “consider the social, cultural, and environmental landscape of the emirate and cover licensing, taxation, operational procedures, and consumer safeguards,” said RAKTDA.
