To streamline the process for national service recruits, Ras Al Khaimah Police has introduced a new initiative called the ‘One-Day Driving Test’. Following successful implementations in Sharjah and Fujairah, this initiative aims to expedite the acquisition of driving licenses.
Time-Saving Solution
This innovative program, hosted by the Centre for Traffic and Licensing at Ras Al Khaimah’s Automotive and Driver Licensing Department, aims to streamline the licensing process. Scheduled from July to December 2024, the initiative allows soldiers to undergo eye tests, internal assessments, and practical driving tests all within a single day, announced Ras Al Khaimah Police.
Efficient Process
Colonel Saqir bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Director of Ras Al Khaimah’s Machinery and Drivers Licensing Department, emphasized the initiative’s time-saving benefits for national service personnel. Instead of spanning multiple days, the streamlined process condenses theory and practical exams into a single efficient session.
MOI App Guidance
To qualify for same-day licensing, participants must pass the theory exam, complete the required training hours, and demonstrate proficiency in both internal assessments and on-road driving tests. Recruits are encouraged to utilize the Ministry of Interior (MOI) app, which provides comprehensive guidance on necessary steps and procedural details to facilitate participation.
This groundbreaking effort mirrors similar successful endeavors in Fujairah, which launched a comparable initiative in June. Eligibility requires participants to be high school graduates, ensuring equitable access to expedited licensing services across the emirate.
Sharjah introduced the one-day driving test in a notable precedent, reporting significant uptake among 194 trainees within two weeks. This initiative underscores Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to modernizing driver licensing services, prioritizing efficiency and accessibility for its national service community.
