About Jebel Jais
Home to the tallest mountain in the UAE – Jebel Jais – Ras Al Khaimah offers a mountain experience like no other. The spectacular Hajar Mountains in the eastern part of the emirate were formed over 70 million years ago and stand nearly 2,000 metres above sea level. The mountain range offers breath-taking scenery and a welcome respite from the heat of the beach resorts with temperatures around ten degrees cooler than sea level.
Those who believe that the sky is the limit will find paradise in Ras Al Khaimah’s rugged Hajar Mountains. With the newly built 30 km road heading towards the peak, the route offers a challenging and beautiful backdrop for hikers, mountain bikers and those looking for a scenic driving route.
With the average temperature ten degrees cooler in the mountains, the UAE summer is an opportune time to enjoy Jebel Jais Mountain. Featuring Jebel Jais Flight, officially the world’s longest zipline at 2.83km and a Viewing Deck Park complete with observation points and food trucks, this is a day trip not to be missed.
