Tell us something about yourself?

My name is Sita Fatuma, Tanzanian by descent and lived in Dubai for about 3 years just moved to RAK this year. I have been passionate about fitness for as long as I can remember, pushing everyone I know to live healthily and eat well. I’ve always been that annoying friend that tries to convince you to try a healthy alternative for a meal and drag you to the gym with me. For me, fitness is essential for our overall physical and mental health, so its not a chore but rather a necessity.

When did you start your journey as a health and fitness coach?

Professionally, I started my journey as a fitness coach last year but I was training, guiding and giving group classes about 2 years ago.


What do you mean by a healthy lifestyle?

A healthy lifestyle is when one is taking care of their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This means you are eating food that is good for you but also having a good relationship with food, engaging in physical activity daily, hydrating enough, getting enough sleep, reducing stress factors…


What are your main strategies for achieving fitness?

Hard work, commitment, discipline and consistency. Show up for yourself no matter what!


Tell us something about your transformation journey. How did you achieve that?

My transformation was different from most; I was the skinny kid! Straight out of high school my main goal was to feel and look strong so I started working out at home then joined the gym and didn’t look back. Working out did make me feel strong and empowered but it also helped my mental health greatly, it is a stress reliever for me basically clearing my mind and lightening my mood.


What is your favourite go-to superfood?

If I had to choose one, I’d say quinoa.


Coming to RAK, which are your favourite spots in Ras Al Khaimah?

I have not really had the time to explore yet, but I love driving by the mountains.

I am not a camping person so to say..


Which one do you like better- Dubai or RAK?

RAK is growing on me, I like the serenity, sense of community and calmness.
