This hotel in Ras Al Khaimah celebrated international women’s day in a unique way

In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, all female team members at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort and Hilton Garden Inn Ras Al Khaimah were treated to an extra special day off work, plus opportunities to participate in inspirational activities and events filled with delicious food, requested poolside relaxation and valuable support networks.

Their male colleagues as a way of showing the 95 female employees from both hotels just how much their hard work and tireless dedication is appreciated, graciously stepped in to cover their shifts.

Before partaking of a delicious barbeque meal and soaking up the perfect winter sun around the HGI pool, the ladies listened to an informative, entertaining and inspiring talk by Dr Natasha Ridge, Executive Director of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy, that focused on the challenges and successes of women in leadership positions and the crucial role all women play in the workplace.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day was ‘Choose to Challenge’ which encourages everyone, male or female, to stand up to entrenched gender bias and inequality in order to create a more inclusive world that celebrates diversity and elevates the achievements of all.

Helen Jacobe, Cluster General Manager; “International Women’s Day is a proud annual moment to reflect on the great achievements made by women from all walks of life throughout history including our diverse and dedicated team right here, right now and the huge benefits that come from establishing and promoting an inclusive workplace. It’s so important for the internal culture that everyone feels valued, empowered and are able to celebrate special occasions like this in a supportive environment of equality and togetherness.”

Hilton Garden Inn Ras Al Khaimah

As a way of thanking women from the wider Ras Al Khaimah community, the team members presented the only female taxi driver in the Emirate with a hamper of goodies related to her vehicle including some complimentary vouchers to use at the Hilton Garden Inn Ras Al Khaimah throughout the year.
