E-scooter firm Circ is launching in Ras Al Khaimah
Circ, the Middle East’s first regulator approved e-scooter operator, has partnered with RAK Transport Authority, RAK Tourism Development Authority and private real estate developers to launch services in the emirate.
Circ said it will provide e-scooters in Al Hamra, Al Marjan Island and Corniche Al Qawasim following its launch in Abu Dhabi last year.
Bader Al Kalooti, co-founder and CCO Middle East of Circ, said: “We are excited to provide the residents and tourists of Ras Al Khaimah with an eco friendly, affordable and convenient transportation solution for short distance trips to better connect the many points of interest in the Emirate.”
Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, added: “The introduction of Circ’s e-scooters to the emirate, not only fits with our ongoing objective to sustainably grow our tourism offering but also gives visitors the chance to experience more of the diversity Ras Al Khaimah has to offer.”
Connecting Al Hamra and Al Marjan Island, the micromobility market leader said it aims to assist Ras Al Khaimah in continuing to become more sustainable by offering safe and carbon emission-free transport solutions.
Jaideep Dhanoa, co-founder and CEO, said: “Circ e-scooters will offer an enjoyable and liberating way for people to explore Ras Al Khaimah in a new way, bringing equity in transportation access for everyone and facilitating local commerce in the emirate.”
The company was the first licensed operator to launch in the Middle East in July and currently operates the largest fleet of electric vehicles in the region.
Consumers across the UAE have completed over 500,000km of rides in 2019, eliminating 112 tonnes of carbon emissions in the process.
As part of its ongoing commitment to the region, Circ said it will continue to expand within the UAE and GCC markets over
the course of 2020.
