Ras Al Khaimah to host energy summit in June 2020
The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah announced it would host its 1st power summit following June together with the RAK Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040, under the theme’ Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’.
The summit is going to take place at the Al Hamra International Conference and Exhibition Centre on 15th and 16th June 2020, and can bring together overseas thought leaders and also trailblazers, along with decision-makers from private industry and the federal government.
The RAK Municipality Department, organiser of the event, said the conference is going to gather a broad range of keynote speakers and individuals from the power business, which includes government bodies, regulators, developers, building owners & executives, consultants, contractors, project managers, bankers, and utilities and also electric power companies, to go over the changing role of governments on sustainability plus energy efficiency, hybrid power blend, hybrid and electric vehicles, unlimited sources of energy, efficient irrigation and water reuse, and emerging technologies.
The event seeks to improve dialogue within the market, and also cross-learning opportunities across quite similar approaches in the planet as well as the area, the organiser added. The Government of Ras Al Khaimah considers the adoption and energy effectiveness of renewable energy as vital drivers because of the competitiveness & sustainability of its economy.
The RAK Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040 target 30% energy cost savings, 20% water savings plus 20% renewable power in the model mix by 2040. The strategy, already well underway through a wide range of initiatives and programmes, connect with federal policies and also supports the UAE’s resolve for climate change mitigation together with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
