With audio guides available in Arabic, English, and Russian, guests can unravel the history of the Waldorf Astoria brand and hear some of the fabulous stories that shaped its history including the ‘meet me at the clock’ expression, that originated following the Titanic tragedy with The Astoria Clock becoming a common meeting point for those affected.

Sayad Ibrahimli, Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah cluster director of marketing and PR said: “Many do not know the fascinating story behind Waldorf Astoria, whether it relates to the brand’s foundation over a century ago or more recently, with the opening of this marvelous property. We wanted to share bite-sized pieces of this with our guests and hope this innovative virtual tour will enhance their experience with us”.

Once the tour has finished, guests will be able to enjoy one of the finest afternoon teas in the iconic Peacock Alley. The spread will include a selection of seasonal sandwiches, light and fluffy scones with cream and jam as well as delectable patisseries.

Marco Pedna, Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah hotel manager adds: “I am delighted that such an innovative initiative is being introduced at our beautiful hotel. We are always seeking to delight our guests with new services, experiences and I hope ‘Meet me at the Clock’ will be one they will thoroughly enjoy for the year to come”

Afternoon Tea, a quintessentially British tradition dating back to 1840, has enjoyed global popularity ever since.
