Coronavirus: Difference between RAK and Dubai Lockdown
Following the announcement made by UAE government about the continuation of the National Disinfection Programme, the 24-hour sanitisation is only applicable in Dubai. Ras Al Khaimah remains on the usual 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM timings, when movements are being restricted.
Within the lockdown period, all malls including Al Hamra Mall, Manar Mall, RAK Mall, Al Naeem Mall, Al Naeem City Center and My City Center will remain closed. The supermarkets and pharmacies will continue to operate like before. Restaurants will deliver food.
Equipped with plastic separators, the taxi service is working in Ras Al Khaimah with front seat ban .
All public and private beaches have been closed, tourist attractions have been shut down and public prayers have been suspended.
However, please do take note of the following:
- Trucks are allowed to travel from Dubai but may only use the Emirates road or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road.
- Residents can drive through the roads of other emirates apart from Dubai where restrictions are set except for essential travels, such as for food, medicine, essential work, etc.
If you have questions about the 24-hour sanitisation within Dubai or you need to apply for a movement permit, you may contact the emirate’s police by visiting www.dxbpermit.gov.ae/home.
