Parents across Ras Al Khaimah and the wider UAE can now mark their calendars. The Ministry of Education has officially announced that all nurseries, kindergartens, and public and private schools across all emirates will resume full in-person learning effective Monday, April 20, 2026.
The announcement covers all enrolled students, teaching staff, and administrative staff without exception.
What the MOE Said
According to the official announcement, schools have already completed the necessary readiness and preparation plans ahead of the reopening. This includes facility preparedness checks, training of educational and administrative staff, and updating of safety and security procedures – all aimed at reinforcing a safe and reassuring learning environment for students and their families.
What This Means for Private Schools in RAK
Private schools in Ras Al Khaimah and across the UAE retain the flexibility to implement a hybrid rotational model when needed. However, this is subject to approval and supervision by local education authorities and must align with each institution’s individual readiness level.
There is one clear operational condition attached to hybrid implementation – schools cannot assign the same teacher to deliver both in-person and remote instruction simultaneously. Staff deployment must be organised in a way that supports continuity of learning without overburdening teaching staff.
Continuity Planning Remains in Place
The MOE has also confirmed that all educational institutions will remain prepared to transition to alternative learning modes if circumstances require it. The system is designed to ensure continuity of education with flexibility and smooth implementation.
For RAK Parents
If your child attends a school in Ras Al Khaimah, the return to school is confirmed for this Monday, April 20. Check with your school directly for any specific communication regarding timings, transport, or hybrid arrangements if applicable.
