Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) announced a transport project that aims to encourage mass transport and offer recreational options, the Abra at Emirates Creek.

Abras will play between four main stations: Corniche 1, Corniche 2, Hilton Garden Inn, and Manar Mall.

Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, general manager of RAKTA, said abras are equipped with smart cameras powered by artificial intelligence. The cameras are linked to the smart control and monitoring centre to “ensure the highest levels of security and safety for users”.

“The cameras also monitor drivers’ behaviour during operations,” the official said.

It is worth noting that the heritage Abra is equipped according to the highest approved safety standards, which include qualified and licensed drivers, marine safety equipment, GPS electronic tracking systems, smart cameras, safety instructions for users, environmental requirements, and requirements for safe driving. In addition, marine passenger transport systems are subject to oversight and inspection by RAKTA’s control inspectors.

Customers can book the service and purchase tickets by visiting the sites of the marine transport stations located in Al Qawasim Corniche, where the electronic reservation system allows customers to pay by cash or via electronic payment cards during working hours from 10 AM to 10 PM every day.
