Emirates Loto with Dhs35m weekly prize launches in the UAE
Emirates Loto with a weekly prize money of Dhs35m ($9.5m) has launched in the UAE allowing not just residents, but anyone around the world to participate in the draw.
To enter, participants must purchase a collectable card priced at a standard Dhs35 available at all Choithrams stores across the country as well as 10,000 authorized retail outlets.
Also, the cards can be purchased online on the Emirates Loto website (www.emiratesloto.com) or via its app.
For those who purchase their cards online, they can opt for it to be shipped to them (although it is not necessary to have a physical copy of the card to participate). The shipping charges of the card within the country and abroad varies for Dhs15-50 depending on your location.
Once you purchase your card, you will need to register it online and choose six numbers (between 1-49) to participate in the draw. The card is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase.
Each collectable card which features a landmark within the country gives users one entry into the draw.
The random sequence of six numbers chosen every Saturday during the draw will be livestreamed at 7.30pm UAE time on the Emirates Loto website.
If a player matches three of the six numbers, they win a free entry; if they match four numbers, they win a cash prize of Dhs300; for five matching numbers they stand to win Dhs10m in cash; while the lucky player/players with six matching numbers stand to win the bumper prize of Dhs35m.
If there are multiple players with five or six matching numbers, then the prize money for those two respective categories will be divided equally between all those with the matching five and six numbers.
The draw is believed to comply with local and Islamic laws as well. A statement on the website states, “As per the Islamic Fatwa and Sharia principles, there needs to be an exchange of value. Entering the weekly draw is optional. You can buy the Collectable for collection purposes only and decline the option to enter the free entry to the draw.”
The first draw is scheduled to take place on April 18, and every Saturday thereafter.
