Shimal Archaeological Site

Shimal Archaeological Site in Ras Al Khaimah

For the history nerds and the merely curious. Shimal spreads over 250 pre-Islamic tombs across the Hajar foothills, a UNESCO tentative-list site that includes the so-called Sheba’s Palace ruins on the ridge above. No facilities, no booking, just you and a few thousand years of it. Daylight access only, about 8 km northeast of the city.
