With a little forward planning (and probably just 1 day of annual leave), you could have a whopping 9-day long holiday this year on Eid al-Fitr. So, this means one thing – time to start planning!

According to the MoHRE, the private sector will have a holiday from April 8, depending on the moon sighting, which determines if Ramadan will last 29 or 30 days.

If Ramadan is 29 days, expect a 6-day holiday from April 8 to April 11. If you start planning now, you could get that (Friday 12th April) extra day off approved before your colleagues do for a whopping 9-day long holiday.

If Ramadan spans 30 days, the holiday will extend to April 12, offering a 9-day vacation until April 14 for those observing a Saturday-Sunday weekend. This presents a fantastic opportunity for a long vacation with minimal annual leave used.
