Hike with your dog: 2020 Human and K9 Ultimate Challenge is coming to RAK
If hiking with your pet pooch is a specific fantasy of yours, then the seventh K9 and Human Ultimate Challenge may be the event for you. Ready to take place on Friday, January 31st, the Ras Al Khaimah hike sees owners and pets undertake the spectacular Jebel Jais mountain.
It’s organised with human security and pet in mind, with marshals, paramedics & veterinarians all on-site.

“Hiking with checkpoints and obstacles on the way for your [canine] companion is a struggle which stimulates the body of yours and mind enabling you to enhance the bond between your [canine] and loved ones,” said Hussain Darwish, founder and organising marshal of The K9 and Human Ultimate Challenge.

Individuals are going to set out with the animals of theirs over the reasonably difficult trek in the scenic Hajar Mountains in the Northern Emirates. The task is ideal for anybody with a fair degree of fitness, including those brand new to hiking. Checkpoints will be put in place at regular intervals to make sure the safety of previous events and individuals have taken approximately 4 hours to finish.

Plus in case you do not have a dog, fear not. All those who’d love to get involved in the task and also don’t have a dog can adopt or even foster 1 from UAE dog charity K9 Friends 1 day prior to the event.
When the challenge is finished, a barbecue will be set up at base camp, where there will also be kiosks selling outdoor equipment and dog food.

Registration costs Dh260 for one person with one dog; Dh475 for a team of two people and a maximum of two dogs; Dh1,025 for a team of five people with a maximum of five dogs. Registrations close on Sunday, January 19th.
