The UAE’s most complete abandoned village, a pearling town of coral-block houses left to the wind since the 1960s. You can wander it freely, peering into roofless majlis rooms and a crumbling mosque, and it is genuinely atmospheric, especially late in the day. Free, no booking, off the E11 near Al Hamra. There is no shade and no facilities, so bring water and wear closed shoes.
