All motorists of Ras Al Khaimah take note that the speed limit on all internal roads and highways of the emirate remain unchanged. The traffic and patrols department of the Ras Al Khaimah police have denied any changes made to the speed limit on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem road as imprecisely reported earlier
- The road sign that went viral on social media was old and was there at a time when the road was being built earlier
- Speed limit is currently 100km/hr on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem road
- Radar flash has been set at 121km/hr, considering the 20km/hr speed buffer over speed limits
- The road signs are installed in a way that alerts the drivers about the speed limit and that the radars on the roads and highways of the emirate are all marked with road signs that clearly show the speed limit
- If a driver is flashed by radar on a road that is devoid of speed limit signs, then fine will be immediately revoked when referred to the traffic department
- All drivers are urged to observe the speed limits in order to avoid hefty fines and black points
- Motorists are advised to contact the traffic department for inquiries, remarks and complaints to avoid being misled by rumours
