Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais Zipline is now available in London too

The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), in partnership with Zip Now London, has announced that Londoners and visitors to the city will be able to witness the extraordinary views seen from the Middle Eastern mountains (Hajjar) through Virtual Reality.

The Jebel Jais Flight Zipline is world’s Longest zipline at 2,800 m and around 1700m above sea level. The ride takes 2 to 3 minutes at the speed of 160km/h.

To capture the experience, this ride has been filmed in 3D and loaded into a virtual reality headset, so that once riders of Zip Now London have pushed off from the London tower, they are visually transported thousands of miles away. The real Ras Al Khaimah zip line takes around two to three minutes to ride, while the London version is around 30 seconds.

Using the latest in augmented reality (AR) technology, the two companies have been able to recreate the visceral experience of flying down the Jebel Jais Flight zipline – officially the world’s longest zip line as per the Guinness Book of Records, by overlaying imagery of the descent onto Zip Now London, dubbed ‘the world’s longest and fastest urban zip line’ — creating an exciting mash-up of adventure and technology.

Currently, visitors get the original Zip Now London experience and then ride for a second time whilst using the virtual reality headset.

Tickets for Zip Now London are available to book via the attractions website and prices range from £26.50 (GBP) for a single adult ticket if booking in advance up to £55 for a family ticket (1 adult and 2 children) and even a £99 unlimited day pass. Prices for walking up to the attraction on the day are £30 per adult, £20 for children and £25 concessions.
